Psychiatric Hospital in Increase No Professional Staff

According to the Ombudsman, the medics have no specific training for working with patients with chronic psychiatric disorders.

The director of the Integrated and Resiliar Centre in Increase, Mifttar Zenelaj, in an interview for KosovoPress, has justified that, saying it is working with a very small number of staff.

According to Zenelij, this centre needs, at least 12 workers, to meet the needs of patients. He himself has claimed that it is good for the staff to advance in terms of professional knowledge every time.

The ombudsman's report also mentions the conditions this center offers, which are said to be medium. Zenelaj has indicated for Kosova Press that, based on some donations from the World Bank, this centre is already being renovated.

The Intergloitation Centre on Growth has capacity for only 65 people. Many times according to Zenelij, he no longer has capacity, even though he has many demands.

In addition, he has indicated to Kosovo Press that because of the marginalisation of this category, there are many patients who are never visited by their family.

The average age of patients in this centre is 50 years old, which includes different nationalities. And because this Institute does not have enough space, the director of this center has shown that priority is given to people who do not have families.
