Peja does not allow public land privatisation

At this year's regular and final meeting of Pec's Municipal Assembly, among the points of the agenda was the proposal of the Mayor Gazmend Mujahari, for the exchange of 16 acres [7 ha] of municipal property, located in the Jabllanica Cadastral area with a private property on the surface of gold and 6 square feet [1.6 sq m], located on the banks of the Lumbadi in Lazhenishkat, Kohanet reports.

This private property had been declared public interest in the purpose of building the road for the footpath, on the banks of the Lumbeh. The same Mujajer proposal had been in the Assembly nearly two years ago and he was not approved by the assembly, which the head of the municipality had hoped would approve this time.
But once again this proposal met with opposition from most advisers, not only from opposition subjects but also from PDK subject advisers, who, in coalition with the LDK, co-govern the Pec Community.

Reasoning on this proposal, Mujahier claimed that municipal land in Jabllanica has no access to the territory of Pec, but only from the village of Caliqan of Istog.

So even the matter of the road would be resolved by citizens there if the land were given to the community for the cemetery. So I begged them not to vote politically but with a reason”, he asked his colleagues in the Assembly.

Nazmi Krasniqi of the AAK asked that this proposal not be approved, which, according to him, is the same as two years ago.
