The ministries' stances have been expressed since, on October 18th, the Parliament's Headship has asked the Government to present its opinion on the contents of the Bill on the purity of the image of senior public institutions and elected officials.
The bill is sponsored by MPs from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the ruling Social Democrat Initiative, as well as the opposition Vetevendosje Movement. It aims to address society's past in the Yugoslav communist system and that the actors of that system limit its responsibility to public institutions.
In addition, to resolve “morally rehabilitation” all those who because of their political beliefs have suffered the injustices done by that system. If the bill is adopted in the Parliament, they will be removed from public functions that currently hold many former Yugoslav officials, including judges and prosecutors.
