NATO reiterated today its commitment to the mission in Afghanistan, after announcing the withdrawal of a considerable number of American soldiers present in this war-torn country.
A spokeswoman for the Alliance refused to comment directly on this announcement, but reminded the emphasis on commitment during a recent meeting of NATO countries' foreign ministers to ensure Afghanistan's security and long-term stability broadcasts.
Our “Aggression is important to ensure that Afghanistan no longer becomes a shelter for international terrorists threatening us in our homes”, spokeswoman Oana Lungescu added.
