Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Fadil Arifi met CDF representatives today (Community Development Fund) the Communist Development Fund, Nermine Mahmuti ) executive director and Gramen Taraku . The CDF is one of the beneficiaries of EU grants in the field of development and promotion of tourism, by the Regional Co-Operation Council, respectively.
MTI is co-ordinating and co-operating closely with the RCC in developing the tourism sector. Minister of Trade and Industry Merwan Rexhepi, the leader of the Tourism Division, and other officials from the Tourism Department and the European Integration Department within the MTI participated.
Initially, Trade and Industry Ministry Deputy Minister Fadil Arifi welcomed those in attendance and commended the CDF for the grant won by offering full co-operation in the development and promotion of tourism in Kosovo.
Then Joy Geci briefed CDF representatives on the tourism department's achievements and plans and informed them of the areas of co-operation, making sure we have continued close co-operation and support.
Nermin Mahmut, CDF executive director, made a presentation for CDF projects and activities in the past and plans for the future.
And Gramin Taraku, project manager “Via Dinarica<1> for Kosovo, introduced the project plan and activities for the development and promotion of tourism in Kosovo, which includes the three Western Balkan economies as a cross-border project between Kosovo, Albania and Montenegro, respectively, expansion of Via Dinarica trails on a 50km area. This project includes four municipalities like: Peja, Decani, Gjakova and Yunik. The project was launched in November 2018 and will be completed in June 2019.
The meeting also discussed the activities of the Kosovo Tourism Experts Group as members of the Regional Co-operation Council (RCC).
The meeting ended with pledges of continued co-operation for Kosovo's development and promotion of tourism.
