Fatmir Hajoll, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has reacted to the news of the Russian News Agency “Tass”, which says that Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has confirmed the withdrawal of Kosovo's recognition from Madagascar today.
Periscop reported earlier today that Tass reported that this is the 12th drop recognition and that Serbia is working hard towards convincing states to do the same.
Hajoll denied to have the withdrawal of recognition from Madagascar that he had officially recognised Kosovo last year.
The extent to which the Russian-backed Serbian propaganda has reached, the news of the country's alleged withdrawal is best spoken. The question is how, within a year, the sovereign will of a country like Madagascar will change twice. Last year, Kosovo has accepted recognition from this country. Local diplomacy has strongly lobbied Madagascar to recognise the Republic of Kosovo, and for us, last year's recognition act marks an irreversible moment, as is the very concept and practice of recognition in interstate relations”, Hajoli told Periscope.
According to him, Serbian diplomacy is trying to draw attention to protests in Belgrade, and from the growing fear of civic discontent with the non-democratic regime there, news of this nature is being produced.
“Vucic and Dacic are in political crisis, and in the absence of solutions and creativity, they turn to the mentality in which they have grown politically, and that is hatred of the Republic of Kosovo”, Hajoli said of Periscope.
Tass reported that most of the countries, which could potentially replay their recognition along the Balkan lines, are already set for such a thing. So it was quoted as saying to the Russian news agency “Tass”, chief of the Centre for the Study of Balkan Modern Crisis at the Russian Institute for Slavic Studies, Yelena Guskova.
“Today, Serbian diplomacy has done much to ensure that a number of countries react to their recognition of Kosovo's independence, thus removing the discussion of this issue at the UN General Assembly,”, she said. “I believe most of the [countries that can revote their recognition of Kosovo's independence] have lifted their decisions so far. However, Serbian diplomats will continue to work along these lines, and any such revocation will be a major victory even in resolving domestic political disputes”, says Tass, Periscopi broadcasts.
