Air pollution in our country and its poor quality continues to be a disturbing problem, especially in Kosovo's capital, in Pristina.
For monitoring the quality of the air in Kosovo, the Hydromethorology Institute of Kosovo (IHK), but in their help comes the American Embassy in Kosovo.
Kosovo's Hydromethorological Institute monitors air quality through 11 monitoring stations, and it notes that during the winter season, there are days when the situation is alarming and overcoming is high, it has made known to the Letafet Latifi, director of this institute.
According to her during the winter season, there is worsening air quality. “ ...connecting these factors, atmospheric conditions and emissions caused by pollutants, burning heating, transport, industry, air quality situation worsens”, she said.
Latifi also stressed that given that during the winter season there are days when the situation is alarming and overcoming is high, the public health institute comes up with recommendations for citizens.
Latifi disclosed that in Pristina they have two metres, one at IHK's location at Pristina exit, and the second station is at the former Renaissance
