Minister Shala has stressed that the European Commission consistently offers assistance in terms of economic, institutional development and assists small and medium-sized businesses.
“A special thanks to the European Commission for the continued support it provides for Kosovo Government institutions, both in terms of institutional formation, development of the legal framework, various regulatory reforms, and in terms of support that offer to stimulate private sector development in Kosovo, in particular for the development of entrepreneurship through various projects. A concrete example for this is the COSME programme aimed at developing small- and medium-sized enterprises”, said Minister Shala.
The minister has announced that the programme in question is a good opportunity to promote entrepreneurship and improve the business environment for Small and Middle Enterprises.
I assure you that the priority is to develop economic capacities in Kosovo and have full support on our part so that we can enable businesses to realise their full potential both within the local economy and the international economy. K ISA as the Investment and Support Agency of Enterprises in Kosovo, under its activities, also has the COSME programme, which the programme pays off annual financial obligations at the international level and informs the business community of benefits from the COSME” programme, it added.
Shala has said that the MTI, is constantly working to make Kosovo an ideal place to do business.
“We in the MTI are constantly working to make Kosovo an ideal place to do business. At the same time, developing the potential of local productivity remains our focus, always making sure we have fair and equal competition in the market. Under the mandate of the Investment Agency and the Support of Enterprises in Kosovo, we provide support programmes for entrepreneurs in Kosovo, beginning with subvention of manufacturing machinery, product certificate schemes, consulting schemes, collaboration with businesses and finding foreign markets, etc. At the same time, it is worth the role of the Kosovar Fund for Cremed Constance, which has guaranteed over a thousand loans worth nearly 52m euros, in the first half of this year, for Small and Middle Enterprises. These loans would not be issued without the guarantee of the Kosovar Fund.
According to him, the COSME Programme is also a greater opportunity to enable companies and entrepreneurs to resume development further.
