Macro criticises Trump for withdrawing troops from Syria

The United States said the Islamic State Group (IS) was defeated, a claim rejected by American allies and politicians.
France, a key part of the US-led coalition against the IS in Syria and Iraq, said its troops would remain in Syria.
On December 22nd, Trump defended his decision to withdraw American troops from Syria, as he said they have carried out their mission in defeating the militant group, the Islamic State in Syria.
On December 20th, US Defence Secretary Jim Mattis resigned after Trump's decision. Two days later, US envoy to global coalition in fight against IS, Brett McGruk also resigned because of the decision to withdraw American troops.
