The Kosovo Army, dialogue and visa liberalisation are the topics driving the Democratic League to come up at a news conference Wednesday.
In addition to the military that will support him, the LDK opposes the Social Democrat Party resolution for dialogue.
The Haradinaj government was also criticised in the conference for failing to liberalise visas.
LDK MP chief Avdullah Hoti said all deputies of this political subject will vote on the law package to transform KSF into the military.
Hoti said that since declaring independence so far, Kosovo institutions have made maximum efforts for this transformation to agree with political representatives of all communities living in Kosovo.
According to him, all communities should feel secure because KSF is in service to all.
The “in line with the decisions of the LDK General Council, the LDK's GP, at the session, expected to be held on December 14th, will support the package of laws for transforming KSF into the Kosovo Army. The Republic of Kosovo as sovereign and independent, like any other state, enjoys the right to have its own armed forces. We want to express our thanks to the US and other international partners for supporting this” transformation, Hoti said.
Kosovo Security Forces, as he said, will contribute to strengthening peace and security in the Balkans and, along with NATO allies, will contribute to peace worldwide.
Hoti reiterated that they do not support the PSD resolution on dialogue with Serbia. While adding that the dialogue process should be led by institutions that have civic legitimacy.
The dialogue process with Serbia is the most important process occurring in Kosovo after declaring independence. The platform for dialogue is the country's Constitution. There's no other platform. So, we can't draw platforms that come out of the constitutional framework that the country has and the team for dialogue are Kosovo institutions out of the citizens' votes, which are legitimate and represent the majority of citizens of our country”, Hoti said.
At this conference, the chief of the LDK deputies has also commented on statements by Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, who has criticised the European Union's top representative, Federica Moghrini, saying he has choked the dialogue with Serbia.
He said it is Prime Minister Haradinaj, the one who has missed the opportunity for visa liberalisation, blocking ratification of demarcation with the drop of tear gas in the Assembly.
“The prime minister's statements, I believe, do not serve the cause and goal the state of Kosovo has for EU integration. .We should be aware that the moment for visa liberalisation was lost in 2016 by the current prime minister, blocking the Assembly with violence and gas. That's the truth. Then, we had 77 votes in the Assembly to vote demarcation with Montenegro, without the votes of the Serbian List”, Hoti said.
At this conference, Hoti has also spoken about President Hashim Thaci's delay in appointing members of the Electoral Commission. In this case, he said it is unacceptable that the president has not carried out his duties to make the CEC functional, since, according to him, the country can go to the polls very quickly
