Trade and Industry Minister Andrew Shala has said that justice bodies should take measures against customs and other authorities that have enabled the entry of Serbian goods to Kosovo with inscriptions “Kosovo Metohijaju”.
He has demanded that the declaration of goods should be made on the basis of the constitutional obligation.
Shala has added that the government has not yet taken measures against customs officers with suspension, arrest or conviction for violating the sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo.
Haki Shatri, adviser to the prime minister, Haradinaj, has said the state prosecution should begin investigations into customs and other institutions that have enabled the entry of Serbian goods with “Kosovo Metohiju” on writing.
Even the deputy head of the Kosovo Producers Club, Astrit Shaban, has said that for products with unconstitutional inscriptions, responsibility must be brought to those who have defeated it.
Businessmen Shacir Palushi has said it is immoral on the part of importers in Kosovo if this commodity has been legally imported. According to him, companies hold the blame for importing Serbian goods with this inscription.
While, after allowing these goods to be introduced with these anti-unconstitutional inscriptions, inspectors are forcing businesses to remove these products, which have been paid from business and paid state taxes. However, whether the state would compensate for the damage it is now causing to the inspectorate, Haki Shatri, the prime minister's adviser, has said trade is business that submits to market regulations, and if they have committed violations, they will face the sentence.
While Minister Shala has declined to comment on the compensation or condemnation of businesses for “Kosovo Metohiju”.
Products with inscriptions “Kosovo Metohiju” have come to the fore in private following the Government's decision on the 100 per cent fee to products originating from Serbia and BiH. /Kosovo pres/
