Various studies have proved that such beverages have very harmful effects on their health. Here are some reasons why young ones should not drink them:
• There is no feeding value: Gased drinks do not provide any nutrients needed for the body. They provide only a few hollow calories that quench the appetite. By consuming soft drinks, children have less appetite for eating other healthful foods, rich in vitamins, minerals, calcium, magnesium, and others, nutrients that are vital to their growth and development.
• They give away children's bones: Gased drinks damage the child's bones because they train calcium, which is very necessary for bone development and growth. These drinks are rich in phosphorus, which prevents calcium from passing on to the bones.
• They may lead to diabetes as a child: Artificial drinkers can cause glucose intolerance, which may be an early sign of metabolic syndrome and Type 2 diabetes. The most frightening is that even if they reduce the consumption of these drinks, the risk does not decline. A can of soda a day can increase the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes by 22%.
