Gorillas at a zoo in England have displayed a particular human trait until they tried to choose a game of épuzzle.

The gorillas were given a hanging device on the wall where the purpose was to run a peanut through several obstacles by inserting a stick through various holes to move the peanut. Finally, the peanut reaches the end of the device and falls to the ground.

Some gorillas, however, discovered an easier way to extract the peanut.

We've seen a lot of fraudulent behavior where they put their tongue on equipment and they're sucking the peanut out of the device, which we s've thought of using it that way. But it shows that they are very flexible, they are able to create new solutions to approach food”, Dr. Fay Clark from “Bristol Zoo Gardens”, broadcast Koha.net.

“have extraordinary skills for resolving problems that were not seen before”, she added.

Scientists say this game has been successful since its introduction this year, since gorillas have played with them even when peanuts were available to win.
