“We need to think about the actions we have to take not to repeat these” incidents, Griveaux said.
Authorities were taken by surprise by the transition to violence after two weeks of protests across France against the rising oil tax.
President Emmanuel Macron will hold a meeting with the prime minister and the French interior minister to discuss protests and possible dialogue with protesters known as the <x0th> yellow chimneys” that do not have leaders or leaders, but were mobilised through social networks.
