Foreign ministers of the European Union member states will discuss the situation in the Western Balkans during the latest meeting for this year.

The Austrian presidency expects the ministers to reflect on topics as they are: reports between Kosovo and Serbia, with particular emphasis on the recent actions of the Kosovo Government and their possible effect on the process of normalising relations with Serbia. In this direction, diplomatic sources from the EU suggest that the foreign ministers will discuss the fee set by the Kosovo Government on goods from Serbia and Bosnia, as well as Pristina's warnings of the law's vote on transforming KSF into the military.

“The EU shares the same view with NATO regarding the formation of the Kosovo Army, which according to them should be the result of a comprehensive process and in line with constitutional changes” has said an EU source for the Radio Free Europe Balkan Service.

EU diplomats have stressed that for the military, official Belgrade should be asked. According to them, if there is no reconciliation on the part of Belgrade for its formation, then this issue should be resolved within the dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade.

Also, ministers are expected to call again on Pristina to withdraw the tariff decision, as this action, as “in Brussels, has complicated the situation even more and is contrary to good neighbourly relations”.
