EU foreign ministers have gathered Monday to discuss, among other things, the reports between Kosovo and Serbia.
Slovakia's Foreign Minister, Miroslav Lajcak, has told TASR that forming the Kosovo Army is more competent of NATO, but said the EU also requires that this issue should be only in accordance with the constitution and laws in force. .
“Regarding the establishment of the Kosovo Army, this is more NATO's competence. At the same time”, he says, “and the EU is clear on this issue that it should be done only in accordance with the constitution and laws and should have the support of international allies, which Kosovo currently does not have”.
“Slovakia supports reform efforts and negotiations for membership of Western Balkan countries in accordance with their European perspective. Disasters, the region still has potential for tension and stagnation, and for that the EU must continue to be strongly committed”, said the chief of Slovak diplomacy, Coha.net.
Lajcak said EU foreign ministers have stressed the EU's key and irreplaceable role in transforming the Western Balkan region, adding that it is vital that all countries in the region continue with the reform process.

According to the head of the Government of Kosovo, KSF transformation is in line with Kosovo's bilateral and multilateral commitments with NATO member states, as well as with NATO headquarters
