The EU wants clarifications from Serbia for Petroviq ban

The Commission for the Rights and Interests of the Communities and Kthim held the next meeting, where, among other things, it was discussed the illegal detention of MP and commission member Slobodan Petrovic, from the Serbian gendarmerie at the Kosovo-Serbia border, respectively, at the border point in Mendra.

The Parliamentary Commission for the Rights and Interests of Communities and Kthim has strongly condemned the illegal detention of MP and member of this municipality Slobodan Petrovic.

We ask Kosovo institutions to take the necessary steps so that such situations of pressure on MPs do not occur. We ask the EU's Office for Foreign Policy, by representative Federica Moghrini, respectively, to pressure the Serbian Government on the necessary clarifications on the reason and circumstances of this case, as well as the pressure to prevent such cases in the future. We ask Kosovo state security institutions to seriously address this case and provide security for MP Slobodan Petrovic and his family”, the Commission for the Rights and Interests of Communities and Kthim says.
