CEC continues second year without mandate

The CEC continues to remain without a warrant. Kosovo's president has not responded to KTV as to how he will proceed with the issue of the CEC's mandate, after the Constitution after six months turned his request for legal interpretation about his division within this institution, KTV reports.

Meanwhile, MAPL still does not officially confirm the resignation of four Serbian mayors in the north. KTV has found that the four mayors on paper wrote that they gave up the government of the Kosovo and Metohija municipalities, a term that existed for the Republic of Kosovo.

One year and three months have passed since the Central Election Commission remained without a mandate.

This late mandate has contributed to the head of state when he decided to seek legal interpretation at the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, how to divide the share of political subjects in the CEC. According to the Constitution, issues raised by the head of state do not enter the scope of the Court's jurisdiction.

But the Constitution has declared his request unacceptable.

The court found that cases raised by the forger before the Court do not enter the scope of jurisdiction of the Constitutional Court, as defined by Article 113. Consequently, in accordance with Article 113, paragraph 1 of the Constitution, the Court concluded that demand is unacceptable”.

The Constitutional Court had even asked the Venice Commission, which had not provided a precise answer.

Kohavision has asked the presidency how it will unlock the CEC, but it has not received answers.

However, the Central Election Commission, which continues to be without a mandate since September last year, says there will be no comment on the Constitutional decision.

As for the issue of organising elections in northern municipalities where Serbs resigned, the CEC has reiterated that there is no official announcement on the issue.

Even in the presidency, they say that so far, no news of the remnant without chairmanship in the four northern municipalities led by Serbs has arrived.

Meanwhile, at the Ministry of Management of Local Power, they have said the resignations have been submitted, but have not officially been processed.

KTV has realised that the reason for non-procedure away is the fact that the Serb resignations have referred to Kosovo as the Kosovo Metohija term.

KTV wrote them MAPL, which is led by Ivan Todosijevic, but has not received answers.

Todosijevic is actually minister in resignation from the Haradinaj government.

Serbian ministers have submitted their resignations when in March of this year, when Marko Djuric was arrested. Still, they continue to enjoy all the opportunities and privileges that the minister's office offers them.
