The cold has included several Balkan countries, while in Serbia it has caused its first death.
Serbian state television reported that the lifeless body of a 50-year-old has been found in snow Monday in a northern village.
In Bosnia, schools have been closed in the municipalities of Konjjic and Jablanica, while trucks and other heavy vehicles have been banned from circulate.
Tens of schools have been closed for two days in Romania as well.
Authorities said two migrants have suffered severe freezing after spending a day abroad in a snow-covered area, during efforts to reach Croatia.
