Ymer: Kosovo to seek responsibility from Montenegro, Macedonia for abstention in ENTSO vote

Vetevendosje deputy Visar Ymer has written about the abstention of northern Macedonia and Montenegro in the vote for Kosovo membership (KOSTT) in ENTO. Ymer has said the Kosovo government should immediately seek responsibility from the two neighbouring states for abstention in the vote that, if it passes, Kosovo would secure real and formal independence from Serbia's energy system.

Ymer's full response:

Northern Macedonia, like Montenegro, has abstained in the vote for Kosovo membership (KOSTT) in NTSO. The latter is the network of operators of the '%s' power transmission systems for European countries. Kosovo's accession to this network would imply formal and real independence of Kosovo's energy system by Serbia's. In addition, we lose millions of euros in payments, but also from non-investance of power transit vehicles across the COST network.

The Kosovo government must immediately seek official responses and responsibilities from these two neighbouring states for this abstention. That's not all. We shouldn't act inferior.

Kosovo has shown great readiness to build good neighbourly relations with both Macedonia and Montenegro. Their last act is not good neighborhood. You cannot maintain position that Kosovo is both independent and part of Serbia (as Serbia claims and as it reasons the vicious campaign for blocking Kosovo in each field). We neither accept this dual position nor tolerate it.

The deal was otherwise very harmful to Serbia for energy only one good: COSTT's membership in NTSO. Now, how many years this is not even being fulfilled. This talks a lot about this kind of dialogue with Serbia. Clearly, Serbia is not being seduced by concessions. That's why we need to increase conditioning. There is no normalization without recognition. And there can be no agreement without recognition.
