The recently published study in Lancet has found that nearly half of the world's countries are facing a lack of babies -- which means there are not enough children to maintain this population size, reports the BBC.
The study has followed trends in every country since 1950 to 2017.
This affects the most economically developed countries, including most of Europe, America, South Korea, and Australia.
