Today begins winter season for drivers

From November 15th, vehicles and companies participating in road traffic in Kosovo must definitely have winter equipment.

The law on road traffic regulations envisions penalties for drivers who during the winter -- the period involving time between November 15th and March 15th -- driving their vehicles without winter equipment.

The Law also says that during winter conditions, the flow of vehicles and the system community is prohibited, which are not equipped with winter equipment. Winter conditions, by law, mean cases of snow - covered roads or ice on the street.

The driver driving a car without winter equipment in the so-called winter season is sentenced to an offense, with a fine of 40 euros. Under the Law, it is convicted of impeachment, with fines of 100 to 300 euros, even the legal person or public institution on whose behalf and within whose authorisations the driver has acted.

According to the administrative guidance for winter equipment, released on March 24, 2017, by the Ministry of Infrastructure, winter equipment for passenger vehicles and transport vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes are winter pneumatics on all wheels.
