Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan and American Donald Trump held today a telephone conversation on the Syria issue, amid escalation between Ankara and a Syrian militia backed by Washington, the Turkish presidency announced.
The announcement of this conversation comes hours after the launch of joint Turkish-American patrols in Minbej, a city in northern Syria dominated by a Kurdish militia considered a terrorist on the part of Turkey, but an ally of the US.
The conversation was focused on the Syrian issue, and most specifically for Minbej and the Idleb issue, the country's last major rebel raid where a demilitarised <x0) zone was created after the Turkish-Russian agreement, identified the Turkish presidency in a press communiqué.
