Thaci: I'd rather talk to a devil than to Vuchchi

On Thursday in Brussels, Kosovo-Serbia talks with the European Union's mediation continue. This is the fourth meeting of the final phase for reaching agreement between the two countries. Kosovo President Hashim Thaci in an interview for Kosovo Prees confirms the meeting and explains what he expects from this meeting. As always, it calls the meeting difficult, [...]
As always, he calls the meeting difficult, and speaking of Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq he says he would rather dialogue with a devil than with him.
It has called on the entire political spectrum in Kosovo for a higher state awareness of a faster decision-making for broad-based political representation. It says the US and the EU are supporting this process.
Thaci says he'd rather argue with a devil than with Vucinqi.
“Pres that it will be a difficult, heavy meeting, because my homopulu from Serbia is a difficult, complicated conversationist and we are at the same time in charge. I can say that the greatest wish I would have been wrapped up with a devil at the table to talk, rather than with Alexander Vucicinqi, because he, with all his potential, the entire state arsenal of Serbia, is working for the dissolution of Kosovo as a state but also the damage to Kosovo institutions. Of course, I will afford it, but it is not enough to cope with Serbia, it is important that the entire political spectrum be locked in this process, that the Kosovo Assembly platform, become Kosovo's joint team, that we all be together on the table and win this process”, he says.
“A general agreement, meaning mutual recognition, legal agreement on the international level. I hope this process will be concluded by agreement, which definitely means mutual recognition and the possibility of Kosovo's membership in the UN, which will open the possibility of recognition of Kosovo by the 5 EU nations and the safe opening of the European perspective for both Kosovo and Serbia”, he says of KosovaPress.
He has called on the entire political spectrum for a faster decision-making for broad-based political representation.
Kosovo's president does not expect an agreement to be reached tomorrow. He says its finalization will close the entire political spectrum.
The “expects a dynamisation of this final process, but of course, finalisation will close the entire political spectrum and all institutions of the Republic of Kosovo”, he says.
Meanwhile, the meeting in Brussels will take place before what will be in Paris, where the two presidents have accepted the invitation of France's president, Emmanuel Macron, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the first ceasefire of World War I. Thaci shows what is expected to happen there as well.
“Paris will be an additional option, where all world leaders will be there, for a stronger international worldwide encouragement, for the necessity and achievement of the Kosovo-Serbia peaceful agreement. A deal that will be welcomed and strongly supported by all world actors, and in particular the importance of this agreement and the necessity of reaching it, grows even more after reaching agreement between Macedonia and Greece for the name, despite criticism and scepticism, but Macedonia today is moving towards NATO, we must not time to lose, exceed this frozen conflict, and move ahead with a European dynamic and triune”, he says.
