KSF Minister Rrustem Berisha has attended the US-Adriatic Conference.

In the media communiqué it becomes known that Berisha at this conference has reaffirmed that Kosovo's goal is membership in regional initiatives, with particular emphasis on full membership in A5.

Kosovo's “path to the future is clear, and NATO integration is our ultimate goal. The Republic of Kosovo remains deeply committed and committed to regional co-operation and a good neighbourly relationship with all countries in the region. We consider this co-operation vital to achieve peace, sustainable stability and further development of our” capacities, he said.

Minister Berisha over the frustrations of representatives from Serbia at this forum over the presence of Kosovo military uniform, said:

We as a people do not want to go back to the medieval language of conflict, but we will talk to the language of integration, European language and the language of a new reality in the region, as a common interest in peace and stability.

Kosovo Security Force Minister Rrustem Berisha during his stay in Budva, Montenegro, where he participated in the work of the defence ministers' conference under the US Adriatic Charter initiative, held bilateral meetings with the State Secretary of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia, Milos Bizjak.

Minister Berisha, after informing Bizjak of the transition process and establishing the legal infrastructure for the defence and capacities of the Republic of Kosovo, stressed successful co-operation between the two states and in the future.

For his part, Slovenia's Defence Ministry representative Bizjak said that as far as the KSF transition is concerned, it is a matter of decision-making Kosovo institutions, adding that Slovenia will provide support and co-operation.

“We think the transition should be a transparent, gradual process as well as in line with the Constitution of Kosovo and with the support of your partners. We will provide assistance from our experience in the process of creating protective capacities and integration.

It is noteworthy that during conference works, A5 member states declared open door policy for membership in this initiative aimed at the integration of countries in the region as the only alternative to stability and security in the region.

“With the language of unity, integrity and stability in the region was declared the US Secretary of Defence Assistant Laura Cooper, who also called for states with observer status to become members of this initiative in the service of regional and global security and peace”, completed in the communiques.
