The former mayor of the Lipjan municipality, Shukri Buja, his sentence today by the Constitutional Court in Pristina has linked the fact that the process against him has been one of the cases the European Union has marked as a condition for visa liberalisation.

After my sentence, I hope to liberalise the” visas were Busa's first words after declaring the sentence he was sentenced to three years in prison for misusing official duty at the time he led the Lipjan municipality.

He also said the case against him was “politically orchestrated”, but declined to speak more specifically about who might have orchestrated him.

But I'm skeptical because our pursuer's appetites are not being followed”, said Buya for Calco. com after the punishment.

“are policy people who don't want political competition”, he said when asked who he calls pursue orchestrator.

“does not accuse anyone named”, Buya added.

He has been convicted Monday by the Constitutional Court in Pristina on charges of misuse of official office and has been sentenced to 3 years in prison.

The second indictee in this case, Ne glorify Zeqiri, has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison, while third indictee Halit Gashi has been found guilty.

The other defendant, Fahri Ratkoceri, has been acquitted of charges, while Fahri Visegrad has been sentenced to 5 months in prison, Edmond Rexhepi to six months (which could turn into fines of 3,500 euros), Bajram Rizani by six months (which could turn into a 500-euro fine), while Driton Avdiu, Magbul Sadiku and Burim Kodra are acquitted.

But some accused have benefited from prescribing the first four points of the indictment because they were prescribed since the works allegedly were carried out in 2008, while the act of early investigation was taken in 2015.

Buya was accused of misusing the official position in connection with a memorandum of understanding signed by the Lipjan municipality with the company “Go ahead. C.”

Along with Buya charged in this case are Nebit Zeqiri, Halit Gashi, Fahri Retkoceri, Hasim Visegrad, Edmond Rexhepi, Dritton Avdiu, Burim Kodra, Bajram Rizani and Magbule Sadiku.

Three of these accused at the time they were charged were officials in the Lipjan municipality.

The Lipjan municipality at the time it was headed by Shukri Buya, on March 21, 2008, had signed a memorandum with “Go ahead. C.” renting this company a lab building in Lipjan.

According to the indictment, the memorandum was defined as “Go ahead. C.” paid from one euro per month rent for the laboratory facility, while the company was given this laboratory for 10 years.

That's what the prosecution claimed was done to the Lipjan municipality.

On April 28th, Bouja was acquitted of the charges she was charged with.
