Following Kosovo's failure to be admitted to Interpol through a media communique has also reacted to the American Embassy, saying Serbia's campaign against Kosovo has pressured some countries to vote against.
In this communiqué, Kosovo police are said to be fully integrated and capable, which has clearly proved that they have helped break up international terrorist networks, cyber crimes, narcotics, weapons and human trafficking.
Full communication:
Kosovo police are fully integrated and capable bodies, which have clearly proved that they have helped break up international terrorist networks, cyber crimes, narcotics, weapons and human trafficking. Most countries have seen this and have supported Kosovo's application for membership in INTERPOL, despite the campaign, led by Serbia, to pressure countries to reject Kosovo's bid. Support for Kosovo's membership in INTERPOL has never been for Kosovo's recognition of independence, but for strengthening international co-operation in the area of law enforcement and closing a critical security vacuum in the Balkans. With that result, we all lose.
We strongly continue to support the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, enabled by the EU. Now more than ever, both sides must speed up their efforts to reach agreement on full normalisation, which is the only way for the two countries to move forward on their path to EU membership. Both Serbia and Kosovo must understand that their journey towards the European future runs through normalisation. To achieve this, we encourage both countries to avoid provocations and work together to reach a deal.
