SBASK's warning: By late November, education in general strikes

Educators of all educational levels in Kosovo will be able to go on a general strike at the end of this month if they fail to meet their demands for raising the wage co-fficiency, as well as adopting the law on educators of the 1990s.

So said the news.net, the head of the SBASK, Nundman Jasharaj, until he added that this warning of strike has been made in order to promote the two parliamentary commissions.

Jashari has said the Parliamentary Commission for Education, Science and Culture has long dragged the debate on the 99th bill.

It is true that the SBASK has warned a general strike and this could happen at the end of November, beginning with the nests then pre-university education, as well as universities in Kosovo, in a general strike, the reasons for this is the challenges we have related to the two laws, is the draft law on the status of workers for Albanian education in Kosovo in the 1990s, and the wage law. He has also said that the SBASK cannot wait without borders and that, according to him, if there are no signals that the wage bill will be changed and that if the Parliamentary Commission continues to keep the draft bill on the shelves for the 1990s, then he says I will call the SBASK Steering Council, who, according to him, will put on behalf of the teachers for general strike in all educational institutions in Kosovo, writes the news.

“On the other hand, we have warned and made private opinion to Kosovo institutions that the promises we have been given about changes, the needed corrections that must be made in the law on wages must take place at the Parliamentary Commission for Administration. But the SBASK cannot wait without borders, I'm saying if we don't have signals and evidence that the wage bill will change, if the Parliamentary Commission without reason continues to keep the draft bill for the 1990s, then I'm going to call, I have an obligation, the SBASK Steering Council, at the end of November, and they're going to put it on behalf of the teachers, and I'm afraid that this decision will be a general strike in all institutions of education in Kosovo<16, with Yasar further emphasis.

Jashar has also suggested that they have met with Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, where he had promised you that the Parliamentary Commission for Administration would have a document, as he says, the prime minister's representative will go to the commission and give him green light to make a change/reform of the bill on wages.

“We have met with the minister and the prime minister, we have had a meeting three weeks ago, and the prime minister has promised us that the Parliamentary Commission for Administration will have a letter, or the representative of the prime minister will go to the commission and give him green light to make a change/reform of the wage bill, so that the education system of this merit country will have, and I'm saying that this parliamentary commission has started work with the bill and there will be public debates, we will be there, and if we see that the Parliamentary Commission will not act as we should react to the situation, Jatisa> said.
