The opposition Russian politician, Alexei Navlany, said authorities have prevented him from leaving Russia to follow a European Court of Human Rights ruling in Strasbourg.
Navalny, a vocal critic of the Kremlin, said passport control officers at the airport have stopped him for, as told, “specific control measures”.
Through a Twitter post, Navalny said they were summoned to a letter preventing him from going out of Russia, but the letter offers no explanation.
Navajo posted the same on his website.
The document cites a decision but gives no explanation.
The European Court of Justice will issue its final ruling for an indictment against Russia, which claims that the arrest, ban and administrative punishment of Navalny on several occasions in the 2012-14 period have violated its rights and are politically motivated.
Navajo has often been imprisoned after organising major antigovernmental street protests and publishing a series of reports of corruption in Russia's ruling elite.
