Protesters are trying to block highways, as well as invade fuel depots with a popular movement called the yellow “jacks”. This response comes after the increase of fuel taxes by President Emmanuel Macron.
According to Interior Minister Christophe Castaner, during the deadlock of a road in the southeastern region of Savua, a vehicle leader was surprised to see protesters blocking the road and giving motor gas, a move that resulted fatal for a woman.
So far, according to Interior Minister Castaner sixteen protesters have suffered minor injuries. Authorities expect about 50,000 protesters to appear on France's national streets.
