Cesar Sayoc, the Florida accused over the case of sending explosive packages to the address of several prominent Democrats and other critics of US President Donald Trump will appear before a federal court in New York on Tuesday, in which prosecutors will argue why he is too dangerous to be released on bail.
He was arrested on October 26th in Fort Lauderdale and hired last week in a Florida court, for the case to be transferred to the New York Federal Court to face five criminal charges.
Prices of explosive material and massacres that have left 11 Jews dead in a synagogue in Pittsburgh have raised tensions in the United States, just days before the U.S. elections held just today and will determine who will control Congress.
The first package was sent to billionaire and philanthropist Goerge Soro to his home, while other targets of these shipments were also former US President Barack Obama and former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
It has not yet been made clear whether Sayoc will seek parole, but federal prosecutors have told the judge, Robert Lehrburger, in a letter that they will reject such a request.
Sayoc faces at least 48 years in prison if convicted on charges charged.
Prosecutors have said Sayoc could face additional charges as the investigation continues. /Reuters
