The Ministry of Foreign Affairs re-exemplifies the official position that the process of membership of the Republic of Kosovo in INTERPOL strongly contributes to increased efficiency of neighbourly, regional and international co-operation in preventing and combating Transnational crime, and in parallel helps strengthen security and maintain international order.
Through a statement to the media, this ministry has expressed conviction that this process serves not only the national interest of the state of Kosovo and its citizens but also all member states of this organisation and their citizens.
“In support of this, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers that from Kosovo's membership in INTERPOL all member states and their citizens, while losers will only be crime-traditional. The Republic of Kosovo, its rule and Law bodies in their ten-year-old existence as a state, have demonstrated high professionalism and received high marks in successful trans-nationalist operations, both with INTERPOL and other organisations, as well as a serious, creditable and internationally dedicated member of the Coalition Global Coalition in the fight against terrorism, violent extremism and radicalism<1>, it is said in the statement.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has long presented convincing legal and professional arguments to all member states in support of the country's membership in this organisation and calls once again on all member states to vote in favour of boosting the efficiency of neighbourly, regional and international co-operation in preventing and fighting Transnational crime, respectively, Kosovo membership.
