Despite warnings that laws for Kosovo's military will be adopted this year, it risks not happening due to delays expected to arise during their review through parliamentary commissions
Although the three bills enabling the transformation of the Kosovo Military Security Force mission have been adopted in the first reading by the Kosovo Assembly, it is expected that Kosovo will not become military this year, because delays are warned to adopt these bills.
Members of the Commission for Legislation say that the procedures for review of the bills in the commissions, as well as their discussion in public debates, could last up to two months, so skeptics say these bills will appear in session this year.
Commission for Legislation member Sami Kurteshi has voiced sceptical that the second reading of the KSF Bill could go to this commission during November.
It's the amendment, the discussion, the public debate, and then the second reading comes, which I think comes in two to three months”, Kurteshi said, about Zeri.
