French President Emmanuel Macron is under pressure on rising fuel prices in France.
Drivers are planning to block major roads and highways across the country on November 17th, as the issue has escalated to social media in anger over the rise of costs.
However, Macron has insisted that customs duties on gasoline should be increased, to promote and develop greener forms of transport.
But how are fuel prices compared in France to other countries in Europe?
France comes at 11 in terms of the most expensive prices in Europe, the duke paid for a litre of 1.38 euros worth of fuel, according to “Fuels Europe”, broadcasts properlyScan).
Norway is the most expensive country, with a litre of fuel costing 1.75 euros on 13 November, Euronews writes.
The Netherlands, Iceland, Italy and Greece were also among the five most expensive countries in Europe, and among 20 countries in the world, sends albinfo.ch.
On the other side of the scale, Russia, Moldova, Ukraine, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Bulgaria have the lowest fuel prices.
Among the 40 countries, Albania ranks in the first half of the most expensive countries. Placed 26th, for a litre of fuel paid 1.38 euros.
Meanwhile, Switzerland is located 28th in Europe, paying for a litre of 1.24 euros.
