From year to year, infant mortality in Kosovo has marked decline.
In 1999, infant mortality was 31 billion - from 1,000 babies born - 31.
That is what health professionals say, in which the decline in mortality affected investments in this area, both staff training and equipment and drugs.
Gevdet Goynovci, director of the Neonatology Clinic at the University Clinical Centre in Kosovo, tells Radio Free Europe that the problem remains premature babies.
Yet, as he says in this category of babies, their deaths have been reduced, even though their deaths occur in the most advanced health centers worldwide.
“The fuses treated at the Neonatology Clinic, within the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo, are with various diseases and pathology that is most treated with premature births. Treating them, particularly weighing 1500 grams, is a problem both at advanced health centres and with infections and”, says Goynovci.
