The United States has returned from today to force sanctions on Iran, which they say are the worst in history, and this is a movement that has sparked massive protests in the oil-rich country.
The administration “Trump” restored all sanctions lifted in 2015, after the signing of the nuclear agreement targeting Iran, but also the states doing business with it.
Sanctions will hit oil exports, the maritime sector and banks, all these key elements for the economy.
Thousands of Iranians already called on Sunday “America's death”. Iranian President Hassan Rouhan has promised to sell oil and break sanctions.
The military is also quoted as saying it will hold an air defence exercise on Monday and Tuesday to test the country's capacities.
Sunday's protests also coincide with the 39th anniversary of the American Embassy's invasion in Tehran, which led to four decades of mutual hostility.
