Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has attended the 9th conference “ ) KSF and Partners organised by the Kosovo Security Force Ministry.
In his speech to those present, Haradinaj has said that KSF will not replace either KFOR or NATO, but that it welcomes a co-operation with these two.
He has stressed that a long and difficult process until the transition of KSF to the military awaits Kosovo.
Below a part of Haradinaj's speech:
The KSF's position is democratic and is a gradual process -- this transition will contribute to regional and global security -- will prove the maturity of our readiness to take responsibility more jointly.
There is no doubt that the transition will ensure multiethnic and professionalism, and multiethnic is threatened by violence that is unacceptable.
It is unacceptable to threaten innocent people, and families of members of an organization or institution in our country.
Some attitudes are important to hear once more. KSF will not replace KFOR, and KFOR is welcome to our state. The KSF will not replace NATO either, the NATO presence is always welcome in our country and we want to join this organization, we want to serve with you.
The transition KSF will be willing to serve with your forces anywhere in the world. Whenever you say, we are willing to serve, Kosovo is ready.
Looking at this Kosovo readiness, I can confirm that your support for professionalism, and the good practices of force are valid and a valuable investment you have made for Kosovo.
We are willing to become INTERPOL members, but also NATO.
It's a long way ahead because the transition is a long process, but I'm looking for every state. NATO will seize this opportunity and invite Kosovo into your teams.
