Kosovo's new goalkeeper, Arijannet Muriqi, risks losing his post of reserve goalkeeper at England's champion, Manchester City.
City is aiming to transfer goalkeeper Zack Steffen as potential substitute for Ederson. Premier League champion has contacted the Columbus Crew club for Steffene and is considered thinking of transferring him for 5.5 million pounds during the January transition.
City turned Kosovo goalkeeper Arijannet Muriqi away from borrowing to NAC Brada after reserve goalkeeper Claudio Bravo had suffered serious injury in August, and has been long absent.
However, reports the Guardian”, Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has reservations if Muriqi can be a substitute for Ederson and the club is looking at other options for the gate.
The report points out that Guardiola considers it necessary for his gatekeepers to play well, and Muriqi has shown some problems in exercise, broadcast Koha.net.
The 23-year-old Stephen is MLS's best goalkeeper this year and has appeared six times so far for the national team of America.
Muriqi debuted for Kosovo in last week's match against Azerbaijan in the final lap of Group 3 in the D League of Nations, which Kosovo won at 4 to 0.
