Gjakova prosecutor investigated for threatening brother's wife

The case is reportedly occurred in the first week of November in Prizren, the day a court hearing was held in which prosecutor Matjan had represented his brother, who was a party in the case.

Regional Police spokesman in Prizren, Vesel Gashi, confirmed the case.

“We have a case against suspects Agron Matjan, the case is being named as the crash, the case is submitted by damaged S. M, and it's being worked by investigative officials. We are in the information collection phase and have been questioned by damaged and case presentation, as well as possible witnesses questioned, and that the case is close to finalisation”, spokesman Gashi said.

He said that “for a few days” would be seen if there is enough evidence to hand over criminal outcry to the State Prosecutor.

In Prizren's prosecution, they have said they have not yet accepted a criminal outcry in the case.

For the case in question, we have yet to accept a criminal outcry, but once it reaches the Kosovo Police's criminal connoisseur, the prosecutor will take concrete steps Conflect legal provisions for the assessment of criminal outcry in the case. Prosecutor Agron Matyan, contacted by KALLXO.com, denied to have any truth in this punishment.

There's nothing real and proven by that case. The person who presented the case only slandered, and wanted to damage my integrity and personality”, Prosecutor Mattyan said.

“Person who presented the case has already left and has gone on to live in America, because he doesn't care what's going on here, so he just wanted to hurt me as a person by presenting the case to Police”, he said referring to his sister-in-law who has American citizenship.

I think the case will be closed because there is no evidence or evidence that I've finished with a word, which never happened. So it's just slander”, he said.

Matjan said he had done no violation of the lawyer's professional ethics when he was presented at a civil hearing in court for his brother.

I've introduced myself with authorization, it's not a ethical offense, because I can present myself in the name of a brother who wasn't present. So I can be presented with authorization as long as it was a non-contactative procedure, so physical division and it wasn't a regular civil-contactative procedure”, he said.

While Chief Basic Prosecutor in Gjakova Ali Selimaj said he is unaware of the case.

“I have no knowledge of the case in question, I don't have any written notice by the Prizren Regional Police on the open case against Prosecutor Agron Matjan, even though it has had to be announced on concrete case”, chief prosecutor Selimaj said.

Anyone can present a case to anyone in the police, but I don't have an answer to the case in question because as I said, I don't even know what case it's about”, he added.

Selimaj also gave no answer if the prosecutor's participation in a civil session presents violations of professional ethics.

“I'm not some expert and expert on ethics violations, so it gives me another organ assessment, while I have no knowledge even of what Prosecutor Agron Matjan introduced at a non-contetitive nature session”, Selimaj said.
