Kosovo's “issue is important, how to live in the EU, if we don't know how to establish relations with neighbours. We thought Cyprus would enter after we thought we would solve the problem with Turkey, but it did not. So this is our experience that such problems should be solved”, he said.
Flickenstein stressed that Serbia and Kosovo should find a way to solve their problems.
I'm aware this is a big problem, but we don't need to get involved. I have great respect for the leaders Vuciq and Thaci, who want to find solutions and let them do their job, not comment and criticize every word they say. This is a very difficult issue for Serbia and Kosovo, let them do the job, if there is any proposal to hear.
My advice is, let them make their work difficult and then see that the outcome can be achieved, but not advance recommendations. I don't think that's ethical. I don't want to change my position with them.
