Employment in the first half of 2018 increased by 3.3% toward the first half of 2017, while the unemployment rate continued its downward trend.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, expanding economic activity has also been reflected in the labour market.
Referring to the Labour Forces Survey, it turns out that the unemployment rate has continued its decline since the first quarter of 2014, where it marked peak of 18%, dropping to 12.9% in the second quarter 2018 for the population of 15-64.
In one year's arch, compared to the second quarter of 2017, where the unemployment rate registered the 14.3% level, results in a reduction of 1.4 percentage points.
