The Commission for European Integrations at today's meeting has disagreed with the amendments to the Bill on Expanded Capacity for Confiscating Wealth, but was unanimously indicated by the Bill on Signals.
With only 3 votes for and two abstentions failed to pass the property seizure bill.
The member of this commission, Andmen Zemaj (LDK), said he would not support the second reading of this bill.
I am personally reincreasing that this law has not met our expectations, with this law tend to advance certain procedures for the seizure of property. This is still empty in this law. That's why I'll vote against it. The seizure of property is being neglected illegally. We cannot be part of the cosmetic changes”, Zemaj said.
The bill in question was also criticised by Commission member Ishmael Kurteshi (LVV).
This law has come to the assembly as a result of outside pressure. Cosmetic changes have been made. There is no expansion of competencies here, and we do not make it functional - that is, in an unjust way, our wealth be confiscated. As such, I cannot support him. Tʹi returns to the government and re-signs”, he said.
Meanwhile, the commission's member, Donika Kadaj-Bujupi (AAK), asked the members to support this bill in this phase due to the delay in EU-set time terms.
“In the phase we are in, a package of emergency laws has been requested, but the visa issue is severely politicised and they are demanding additional conditions. We are constantly reminded that two more laws are hostage and must be voted in. To be rejected in principle would be an additional argument for those” voices, she stressed.
The property seizure bill was also rejected by member Visar Ymer (PSD).
Ymer said the law did not meet Kosovo's needs and abstained in the vote.
Meanwhile, support to pass the bill also called for Commission Chairman Blerta Deliu-Codra (PDK)
The Commission for European Integration unanimously approved the review of the Bill for the Protection of Signals.
The member of the Visar Ymeri Commission regarded the term “as strange as proving”.
This is a strange name in Albanian, but we can't say otherwise. When we're talking about it, it's like we're protecting the road communications signal”, Ymer said. /Call. com
