He has told Radio Kosovo that the untillday impasses are made by Turkey's Islamic Community, which is the project's designer and funder. Pristina municipality spokesman Adonis Tahiri has said they are waiting for construction permits, which they will handle under the Construction Law.
The start of next year will be the time when construction of the Grand Mosque facility in Pristina, whose location is near the Grand Post in the capital, has revealed to Radio Kosovo, Kosovo's Islamic Community spokesman Ahmet Sadriu.
As for the delays in this project, Sadriu has said that there is little information, since the answers BIK has been accepted by Turkey's Islamic Community, which is also the sponsor of the project, have not been convincing.
They haven't brought the regional project yet. We have had several lameness and delays in this regard. We've asked for answers, they have their own reasons, for which, however, they may not be convincing. We've insisted on why this huge delay, but they've given their answers to the project, not we've been able to do it, different reasons, I mean. ” said Sadriu.
According to Sadriut, there are currently some tests being conducted on the parcel where the mosque is to be built, in order to analyse the site as it comes to a large depth where the underground parking lot will be placed, as well as the intensity of the ground.
While the request for mosque construction permits is also awaiting the Pristina municipality.
spokesperson Adonis Tahiri has told Radio Kosovo that at the moment they have the application for construction permits, they will handle it based on the Law for Building in the Republic of Kosovo.
Tahiri said “BIK has requested construction conditions, which is the preliminary phase before the application for permission, and construction conditions have taken them last year. Since then, they have not yet applied for construction permits. Construction conditions have a specific deadline, and BIK has this year called for this deadline to be extended until they are ready to apply for permission. We have returned positive answers and now we are waiting for BIK to apply for permission so that we can proceed further. ”
Gurthhamel for construction of the Great Mosque in Pristina was set in 2012. Construction of the mosque was initially envisioned to include a space of about 50,000 square metres, but, according to Ahmet Sadriou, due to the inadequate location, the project has been evacuated by two levels of underground parking lot, which is expected to have about 400,000 square metres.
The project is designed to cost up to 40m euros and include the mosque object along with support spaces such as libraries, lecture rooms, halls for various activities, and souvenir shops.
Construction of the mosque is expected to last about three years from the time it began.
