The US State Department has sent a letter seeking support for Kosovo from the Caribbean states.
On the eve of Serbia's Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Daciq's visit to Grenada last Sunday, the Caribbean states have reached a “calling” from the US State Department seeking support for Kosovo, writes “Vecenje Novosti”.
“I am commemorating your government to strongly confirm Kosovo's accession as a full member of the international community. By declaring independence in 2008, Kosovo has been recognised by more than 100 UN member states and continues to progress as independent, multiethnic and democratic”, the letter sent by the American State Department broadcasts News.
Kosovo's additional differences bring greater stability to Europe, while the isolation of Kosovo and its citizens are the recipe for instability”, says the continuation of the letter published by “Veèernje novosti”.
Daciq had warned of the trip to lobby for attracting Kosovo's recognition, but in the published document it is said that such a “would brave the backward elements in the region, which work to slow down efforts to normalise reports between Kosovo and Serbia, as well as integration of the region into Euro-Atlantic institutions”, conveys the news.net.
In the letter sent to the Caribbean states, the US of them seeks Kosovo's support for membership in INTERPOL with the reasoning that this “will reinforce state efforts to fight crime and terrorism, and that only criminals benefit from the status quo”, writes “Novosti”.
