Something that happens to the brain when you watch pornographic movies

Researchers from Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin have published a study in the magazine. JAMA Psychiatry where they found that the hours spent watching pornographic movies could have a connection with the volume of the gray substance in a certain region of the brain.

Scientists have recruited 64 healthy males aged 21 to 45 years for this study.

The participants in this study have filed several polls about the amount of time they spend watching pornographic films in a week, which marked dramatically among participants.

It was found that males do not spend more than four hours a week watching pornographic material.

Then, men's faces were scanned with the use of MRI while watching pornographic images, or non-sexual images. Researchers had discovered a negative link between the past time by watching pornographic films and the volume of the gray substance of the right - hand caudatium. When men had looked at pornographic material, scanners MIRI had also discovered a descent into the function of the region of the brain known for proceeding motivation.

Studies are only initial, and researchers admit that further and more rigorous studies are needed before they give their conclusions.
