Kurz, who during his recent visit gave support to Thaci's idea of restructuring borders and exchange of territories between Kosovo and Serbia, says barriers should be broken in the Balkans, and no new blockades created.
I am sorry that Kosovo has set tariffs for products from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Austria supports Western Balkans regional co-operation and regional free trade agreements CEFTA, which benefit the entire region. We have to break up barriers instead of inventing new”, wrote Kurz in a Twitter response.

The tax on Serbian products has opposed political leaders in Serbia as well as the European Union.
Today in northern Mitrovica too has been organised a protest by Serbs living there, and such a tax has been required to leave.
