But now much more publicly and this idea has come from Kosovo President Hashim Thaci himself.

The president of Kosovo says he will also propose it at the negotiating table with Serbia.

On this issue, leaders of the Presevo Valley have had frequent meetings with the president.

In an interview for The KP, chairman of the Presevo municipality, Albania Arifi, has shown whose initiative was, though it denies they are in exchange for territories.

Arifi says the idea of unity is for citizens living in this part that President Thaci has accepted.

Arifi has added that the Union's request is not made on anyone's bill or on personal interests. However, he has shown what three conditions the Valley to join Kosovo.

Despite that the EU Arifi has expressed itself against such initiative, where, according to him, some countries are supporting it, but that debate is still under way.

Asked whether their request, the president, was abused, he declared there is no chance that no one would play games with the Valley.

On 29 September last month, the Vetevendosje Movement organised the protest to reject President Hashim Thaci's idea of exchanging territories.

Objections on this issue, as well as organised protest, Arifi called them more political, adding that the political spectrum in Kosovo should be more unified.

If this process were to take place, according to him it would take a long time, but most importantly, as he said, is how the Presevo Valley will join Kosovo.

By not excluding that it has <x0hale”, if the exchange of territories will occur, then he has stressed, trusting President Hashim Thaci's initiative.
