The idea of exchange of territories and border correction with Serbia, which is promoted by President Hashim Thaci, continues to remain a major concern for Albanians of the northern part of Kosovo. Despite objections from Albanian villages, Vladi, who belongs to the northern municipality of Mitrovica, but also to the villages of Kelmend, Boletin, Dzeja, Kostova, Bistrica and Ceraj, who belong to the Zvecan municipality of Leposaviq, live in fear that it will indeed come to the exchange of territories, meaning that northern municipalities pass Serbia along with Albanian villages.
Vlachia residents, who repeatedly point out that they feel they are part of the southern Mitrovica municipality, have complained that in recent days strangers visit their village, which are represented as foreigners but speak Serbian. They have met with Mitrovica Deputy Chairman Faruk Mujka, who has been told their concerns, but have also asked him to take steps to investigate the situation, which may be, as they say, “final to them and their village.
