US President Donald Trump has said in a television interview that he believes his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin “maybe” is involved in the assassination and has again confirmed that Moscow has intervened in American politics.
Trump has also said that I don't know whether US Secretary of Defence Jim Mattis is planning to resign, but that he considers the general to be “type of democrat” and that he can leave.
He has made these comments in a preliminary interview for the 60 minute TV show in CBS, which was aired on October 14th.
Among the issues he has mentioned are North Korea, post-gourlourous efforts, the disappearance of Saudi journalist in Turkey, Jamal Khashoggi and climate change.
When CBS's host, Lesley Stahl, asked Trump if he agreed with people who claimed Putin was involved in the criticism killings, he has responded, “probably yes. Maybe”
It has not been made clear in which murder Trump has suspected Putin was involved, though many critics of the Russian leader have been killed through alleged poisonings and others in mysterious conditions.
However, Moscow has denied any connection.
Asked about the Russian intervention in the US political system, Trump has said he believes Moscow has intervened, but that also “Kina has intervened likewise”.
“You are completely avoiding the issue of Russia”, Stahl told the president.
“I am not doing anything” has replied Trump.
The American Intelligence Community and US Special Adviser Robert Mueller have found that Russia has launched a campaign to spread propaganda to social networks and has hacked democratic documents on the attempted impact of Trump's election outcome on US presidential elections.
Moscow on the other hand denies any involvement.
As for Secretary Mattis, the republican president has said he is not sure whether the general will continue to remain in his position.
Maybe he'll leave. I think he's kind of a Democrat, if you want to know the truth”, Trump said.
But General Mattis is a good man. We get along perfectly. He can leave. At one point, everyone leaves”, he added.
Mattis is considered one of the most independent members in Trump's cabinet, but he is also a strong hand in this administration, which is known for large numbers of movements among officials.
It has also been described as a personality that has created balances towards the president's approaches, as it has advanced the idea of improving relations with traditional US Aletats, including NATO members, to whom Trump is addressed with a harsh vocabulary.
Some leaders from the West have also welcomed Secretary Mattis for Severe Political Against Putin, despite Trump's strong desire for warmer ties with Moscow.
Speculations have increased for Mattis' future as chief of defence since the journalist's book Boob Woodward for the White House led by Trump, in which the general reportedly questioned Trump's assessment, comparing his understanding ability to an 11-year-old child.
But Mattis has argued that he has made such statements and has repeatedly denied that he is considering leaving.
“Of course I don't think about leaving”, he told reporters in September.
I want this place”
Otherwise, among those displaced in Trump administration are Rex Tillerson, who has held the position of Secretary of State and H.R. McMister, who was in position of National Security Councilman.
On October 9th, Trump also announced that Nikki Haley will leave the ambassadorial position at the United Nations organization at the end of the year.
No reason for her resignation has yet been made public.
Trump has also given signs of potential changes to his cabinet.
“I'm making changes. I have the right to do them. I've got people who can get engaged and it's going to be fantastic”, the American president added. /rel
