Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has met with ambassadors of the Quint countries this morning, chiefs of embassies of the US, Great Britain, Germany, France and Italy, as well as the chief of the EU Office in Pristina, with whom he has talked about recent developments, with particular emphasis on dialogue issues, INTERPOL, KSF and visa liberalisation.
As the communique from the presidency reports, Thaci, speaking of dialogue, welcomed the international community's unique support for dialogue and negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia without prejudice or conditioning their epilogue.
“we welcome your unique position, that dialogue is the only way to move towards Euro-Atlantic integration and the full normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia. The success of this process depends on political unity in Kosovo, but significantly also on the unity of the states of Quintin”, said President Thaci.
He also stressed that Kosovo is close to finalising the INTERPOL membership process and urged added co-ordination and engagement “in this final phase of an important security process in Kosovo and beyond”.
On the issue of visa liberalisation, the president said it is fundamental that there is no delay in making the merit decision for Kosovo citizens.
For the KSF, however, he confirmed that the process of preparing changes in 3 laws has begun to expand the KSF's mandate.
“Interformation of the KSF is an unstoppable, irreversible process, which is being done carefully and in full co-ordination with our international partners”, said President Thaci.
